On Easter, 20,000 Christians in the Dnieper prayed for Ukraine
On April 17, the All-Ukrainian Easter Prayer took place at the Meteor Stadium in Dnieper (former Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine). About twenty thousand people from different cities took part in this event, Christian Telegraph reports according to the Christian Megaportal invictory.com.
Participants of the event prayed for the well-being and health of their loved ones, as well as for peace in Ukraine.
“We want this prayer movement to embrace the whole country, involving more and more people in prayer. So that in every major city thousands of Ukrainians would come together to cleanse their hearts and get closer to God, “said Andrei Tishchenko, senior bishop of the New Generation Church, and chairman of the organizing committee of the event. “History proves that the deep prayer of people is the way to social development, material prosperity and spiritual blessing of the country.”
During the prayer, the hotline worked traditionally. Anyone could call the call center with a request to pray for the resolution of their situations. At the end of the All-Ukrainian Easter prayer all attendees prayed for the wishes left on paper by the people asking for God’s help. There were more than one hundred thousand papers, the organizers said.
After the end of the prayer, the organizers distributed seven thousand food packages to pensioners and people from low-income families of Dnieper.
“I came to pray to God that Ukraine will live better and the war in Ukraine will be over. I believe that thanks to prayer, the war in Ukraine will be over,” said Dmitry Malinevsky, who came to pray from Mariyanka (the frontline city in the Donetsk region).
The All-Ukrainian Easter Prayer became traditional in Ukraine. The event takes place once a year at the country’s largest venues in order to popularize biblical values and Christian morality among the society.
